What’s Next?
Posted: 17th July 2011 by adminPart 2 of the Genocide Memoirs. Coming from the success of the first Genocide Memoir – Tateos Panikian, RedCell was recently approached to partake in Part 2. At 100 years of age the last Armenian Genocide survivor in Australia has been found and we are making another mini-doco about her and her experiences as a 5 year old during those traumatic times.

The light from outside burns a hole into the night and there is no telling where the ride will end.
Responsible for complete production, shot over 3 afternoons in 3 locations.
Shot on a Canon 7D with a lensbaby, a Canon 5D for slomo, and a GoProHD for spinning shots on a portable drill head.
Official selection Cannes – Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty debuts at the Festival de Cannes 2011 where it received mixed responses.
Shahane Bekarian sided with editor Nick Meyers where he earned a special thanks on the film for his compositing temp track work for some complicated shots.
The film contends for the prestigious Palme d’Or on May 22nd.

One of the last Armenian Genocide survivors in Australia passed away on 14th March 2011 at 101 years of age. Shot 2 years prior, this interview tells his story.
Screened at the ANCA April 24th Armenian Genocide Commemoration, 2011.

Entire set for experimental improv projection gig with Forenzics at new venue Tone in Surry Hills, 5th April, 2011. I usually don’t post full gigs but I just couldn’t trim this one down, Forenzics played with so much veracity from beginning to end without taking a breath that it deserves to be seen. By far my favourite performance of theirs I’ve seen.
Thanks to the Bird’s Robe Collective crew for a great night. Improv projections using VDMX with Akai APC40 controller. Word up to memo.tv’s glitch plug ins. And Quartz Composer.
